  This is a glorious month. And this can be for the mere reason that you wake up thirty one days or it can be because it's the time that we celebrate all mothers in our lives. Oh what the heck, let it be for all the reasons, but don't forget your mommy and don't wait until Mother's Day to take the time to thank your mother for loving and bringing you into the world. It is very easy to push our personal tasks for business ones. This may be acceptable as long as you take those few minutes to make your loved one know how much you appreciate that person on any given day...not just a national holiday. Happy Mother's Day!

  Also, please make the effort to join us for this month's membership luncheon that will be focused on Disability Insurance since it is Disability Awareness month. Next month it will be a treat for all of us since our membership meeting will be at the Downing Planetarium. Don't miss out. In addition, do not take for granted what your NAIFA membership does for you. All you have to do is know what the unions do for correctional officers...nothing? Of course not. They assist in keeping thier jobs and in keeping our tax payers' money at work. Just like they have unions, we have NAIFA to help keep our jobs. The environment in Sacramento is very volatile and we must increase our membership in order to keep up with the changes. We find our strength in numbers. Stop pulling the wagon while many of your peers sit in it for a free ride... speak about the benefits of being a member.
