January 2007

Thank you, thank you, thank you...Our Christmas luncheon was wonderful. The performance provided by the Clovis High School Choir was enjoyable and humorous (thank you John Martin for coordinating this event). Over $350 was donated by our members to assist the choir on their trip to Hawaii later this year. Generosity was also shown in the donations that our membership provided to the Community Food Bank in order to serve those that otherwise, would have a bleak Christmas.

Now, we are in January 2007. I don't know about you all, but it isn't the month or the year that reminds me that I'm aging, but rather my children's birthdays throughout the year that do remind me that time is flying. Anyhow, with that said, it doesn't seem like too long ago that our 2006-2007 year began, it has come and is going by. The attendance at our membership luncheons has steadily increased every month and I have to attribute that to our board that has made it a goal to bring value and change to our association. After all, change creates opportunites and it is up to each and every one of us to take those opportunities and act on them.

The remaining of this year is filled with many valuable speakers and programs. This month, we have a Long Term Care program that is brought to you every other year. In addition, our February speaker, Brian Lee, is a phenomenal professional that I have had the pleasure to hear speak and meet. Although I specialize in the health insurance industry, I can say that Mr. Lee's speech is applicable to everyone that wants to provide his or her families with peace of mind which is only attained through proper planning. It is to your benefit that you make the choice to attend. In closing, I will see you at the January luncheon and am grateful for your continued support of NAIFA Fresno!

Respectfully yours,

Genevieve Marie Hormel
