I must begin this month's message by taking this time to thank you all for continuing to support our local NAIFA association. I find that we are starting off our year on a positive note, proven by the great attendance we had at our September luncheon.

   I find it necessary to mention that it is imperative that we all take to heart how we benefit by being a part of NAIFA. I find that prior to recent years, I was one of those "just because" members that could not clearly convey to anyone that asked me the reasons why I was a member. Thus, as I have become involved, I have seen the light in realizing the priceless benefits that we receive. The advocacy allow should be reason enough to be a member. I recall when I was merely a baby in this industry, and how my mentor had mentioned that anyone that was anyone was a member of NALU. For this one reason alone, I joined. It appears ironic that we sell insurance day in and day out, and at the same time, we may not take an active roll to insure the future in our industry by being an involved NAIFA member and/or by contributing to IFAPAC. I challenge you to become active and invite colleagues that are not members to our luncheons and membership events. Be proud and vocal about NAIFA.
